Article 1
Article 1 is about the Legislative branch. It states that the congress is made up of the senate and the house of representatives and that representatives are based on the states' population and there are 2 senators from each state. Article 1 also discusses all of the powers of Congress and qualifications for Senators and Representatives.
Article 2
Article 2 is about the Executive branch. It states that they can carry out laws and are also trusted in helping to elect the President and the Vice President. The executive branch is run by the president and vice president. Article 2 also talks about the powers of the president, qualifications for the office, and the election process.
Article 3
Article 3 is about the Judicial branch. It states that they have the power in the Supreme Court. There are 2 court systems, one is the federal courts and the other includes courts of each of the states. The Judicial branch runs both of these courts. Article 3 discusses the Supreme Court's powers and qualifications.
Article 4
Article 4 explains the relationship between the states to one another and the relationship between the states to the national government. It also states that the rights of citizens are to stay the same in each of the states.
Article 5
Article 5 states the ways the Constitution can be ammended or changed. First the amendment must be proposed, then the proposed amendment has to be ratified, or approved.
Article 6
Article 6 contains the "Supremacy Clause". This recognizes that constitution as supreme when it comes to conflicts in the government or in the states. Article 6 says that the Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land.
Article 7
Article 7 addresses the ratification and says that the Constitution must be followed and obeyed once it is ratified. Article 7 also says that 9/13 of the states need to ratify the Constitution before it takes affect.
